The Properties Accountant is responsible for financial reporting and recordkeeping of Korum-owned entities and properties, excluding the automotive dealerships.  This position maintains the accounting systems for all applicable entities, prepares monthly financial statements, and performs all accounting transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles, and state or federal regulations, or corporate-defined procedures. The position is also responsible for maintaining related corporate files of assigned entities.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  1. Performs all accounting transactions and recordkeeping for all assigned non-automotive (i.e. real estate)  entities; including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing/invoicing, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank account reconciliation, lending activities, etc.
  2. Prepares timely and accurate monthly financial statements for all applicable entities.
  3. Audits vendor invoices and processes payments.
  4. Maintains bank account records and reconciles bank statements at least monthly.
  5. Compiles various lending, statistical, and financial accounting reports pertaining to selected properties, various activities, and entities.
  6. Ensures that all properties (and where applicable the entities) are insured and maintains/monitors insurance documents for accuracy.
  7. Prepares and submits assigned tax forms and payments according to state and federal requirements (B&O tax returns, 1099 forms, etc.).
  8. Prepares and provides annual financial statements and related tax documents to outside accounting firm for tax return preparation.
  9. Conducts property management activities internally (or coordinates with outside property managers), ensuring lease collections and vendor payments are appropriately handled.
  10. Maintains applicable corporate and property records (e.g., LLC Agreements, Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, acquisition documents, property management records, etc.), And keeps such files in an orderly fashion.
  11. Develops and maintains ethical and professional relationships with tenants, property management providers, and outside service providers.
  12. Provides periodic assistance and back-up services to the Korum Automotive Group Executive Assistant position.
  13. Maintains the strictest of confidentiality in performing assignments relative to any information received directly or indirectly.
  14. Ensures that adequate internal controls exist and are functioning appropriately within assigned areas and that adherence to corporate policies/procedures, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements (i.e., federal, state, local) is achieved.
  15. Supports and encourages a results-driven, values-based, sales and service culture throughout the organization.
  16. Exercises an appropriate level of courtesy, tact, and professional communications in dealing with others.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Five years of accounting experience required.
Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks Accounting Software.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Need valid driver’s license.
